Outcome Budget

Outlays in the budget should reflect a commitment of the government towards realising goals or outcomes in the financial year. It is, therefore, important to convert outlays into physical outcomes with monitorable monthly/quarterly/half-yearly targets to improve the quality and the pace of implementing developmental programmes.

In the year 2006, the Finance Department has introduced "Outcome Budget" on the basis of Plan outlays of departments.
