The State of Madhya Pradesh

The state of Madhya Pradesh, lying in the heart of the country , is bounded by latitudes N 21°04'30" : 26°49'30" and longitudes E 74°1'10" : 82°48'20" . The state sprawls over an area of 308000 sq.km. with about 28% land covered with the forest. This land locked state is bordered by the states of Gujrat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. There
are 9 divisions, 50 districts and 287 Tehsils in the state. Administratively the
divisions are headed by the commissioners, districts by collectors and Tehsils
