
Introduction -
Government Girls College, Khargone is a prime women educational institution of West Nimar district of Madhya Pradesh. It was established in the year 1984 by a Govt. of M.P. order No. F-44/2/84 F-1/38 dt. 28-08-1984 / 03-09-1984 It was affiliated to Vikram University Ujjain at the time of its establishment and afterwards when Devi Ahilya vishavidyalaya Indore's jurisdiction was extended came in the year 1995 this college went under the jurisdiction of it by order no. F/16/82/16/92/C-3/38 dt. 04-07-1995 deptt. of Higher Education Govt. of M.P., it is affiliated to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore, which has attained the four star status from the NAAC.
I. The college has a campus of 2 acres area approximately. 14 undergraduate and 3 post graduate departments are being run, here.

Apart from the above courses, special computer certificate and Diploma courses of CEDMAP are also being run by the institution.
II. The college was recognized by university grants commission under 2 f and 12 B in the year 1992. The college is awarded a certificate of excellence by the Higher Education deptt. of Govt. of M.P.
III. The college has 11 qualified faculty members as regular teachers appointed by the Govt. Out of these eleven, 2 teachers are having Ph.D. Degree and 3 M.Phil Degree. Out of 15 sanctioned posts of teachers, 4 are lying vacant. On these 4 posts temporary teachers are recruited every year as guest faculty members according to the state govt. norms and according to the requirement of the respective departments. Jan Bhagidari Samiti of the college has also created posts of teachers in self, financed courses. These posts are also filled every year according to the rules.
The number of students admitted each year to various undergraduate and post graduate courses is more than 1000. Admission is open for all girls students and state govt's rules are strictly followed.
The annual examination system is followed for all the courses. The examination system is governed by rules and regulations of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Indore. Results are declared by the university in stipulated time.

V. Various academic, cultural, literary, sports and other extra curricular activities are run by the college to promote and develop all over personality of the students. A large number of students of this college have been selected in various sports and cultural activities on university and state level. The college is declared lead college by state Govt. to organize youth festivals of all the colleges in the district.
VI. Minor research projects for college teachers funded by U.G.C. are being carried out. Some honored Ex-professors of college services provide their expertise as guest faculty members to the students of the college, for their further studies as well as for research & projects. These honored teachers are invited to the college as per the college's Akshayaghat Yojna.
In addition to these activities the college has also conducted seminar sponsored by UGC and CRO Bhopal. Some of the college teachers also have had the opportunity to take part in various seminars and workshops held by the university or by UGC at various locations.
VII. The main financial resource of the institution is state government's plan & non-plan grants. Other non-government resources are amalgamated fund of the college, UGC grants and Janbhagidari Funds.
The process of assessment and accreditation helps us to know our strength & weaknesses and thus provides us opportunities to grow and develop. Self analysis helps us to estimate our efficiency and strength to enhance in those fields and at the same time it shows us our weaknesses which are to the removed. Thus we can plan to give the institution a new direction and a better identity. Out-come of the process of self analysis provides to the society also a reliable information on the quality of education offered by the institution. It also initiates the institution to plan for better environment and to provide better facilities to the students in the field of education, sports and various social-cultural activities.
