Shri Tilak Rastriya Mahavidyalaya
Shiksha Samiti, Katni (M.P) founded 'Tilak Mahavidyalaya,
Katni' as a private college in the year 1958. It was started
as Degree College. Government of Madhya Pradesh took over the college on
February 7, 1971. Post-Graduate classes in Arts and Science Subjects were
started in 1981-82. The College was upgraded and declared a Post-Graduate
college on March 20, 1997. The College is situated on the Katni-Shahdol Road
and is spread over an area of about 18 Acres. The College has a well maintained
playground and has an immense potential for development. The College became the
first Post-Graduate College of Katni district after the formation of District
of Katni in May 1998. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has declared this
college as 'The Lead College of Katni District'
on April 1, 1999. Govt. Tilak PG College, Katni has accredited
'B' Grade by National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC)
on 10th Februray, 2007. The College is affiliated to Rani Durgawati University,
Jabalpur (M. P.). The Principal of this college is Dr. Smt.
Ila Ghosh.
