The Mineral Resources Department is responsible for survey, exploration and exploitation  of all minerals (excluding atomic minerals and oil & natural gas) in the state and for the administration of  Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act,1957 (MMRD Act) in respect of all the mines and minerals in the states.
